Devonshire Style Scones

These are unlike American scones. They are light, fluffy, tender and not overly sweet.  They are meant to be slathered with Devonshire or clotted cream and topped with strawberry preserves.  
Now the dilemma: does one put the cream first and then the preserves or the preserves and then the cream.  We opt for the former so you get a burst of fresh fruit right away followed by the unctuous cream.  
These are $24 for 12 scones. They are special order only upon 48 hours notice. They will baked the day you plan to pick them up. They do freeze well.
